I think i much prefer the colour photos and now regret no taking more colour film with me to berli :/

BERLIN//ILFORD SPORTI

Im unsure as to wether im fond of this camera or not, the pictures that i took on black and white came out really flat but this could have been because of the bright sunny weather.

Waltz with Bashir

This is a fantastic example of animation, written and directed by Ari Folman. Although it could easily be mistaken as rotoscoping, animation where live footage is drawn over, it is actually mainly flash animation. Illustrations are cut into many pieces then moved in sync to create the illusion of movement.
The overall visual aspect of the film is quite breath taking. The drawing style and colouring is fantastic and this along with the music creates a beautiful piece of animation!
I like the jitteryness of this animation i also really like the pastiche/dad style eyes and mouths that constantly change.

Cut out animation research...

I have been looking at lots of different cutout, collage animations on youtube and found these. From this i know that i still need to develop my style of collage so i need to make more collages still. I also need to start trying out bits of animation using a camera and doing stop frame animation or try using applications such as, after affects, fireworks or final cut. I can then work out which technique is best to go forward with.

Pin Hole Camera

I followed a tutorial on the internet and made a pinhole camera using and empty film canister and a film box. Although it is a good idea it didn't work too well and it needs a lot of practice to get it right. I still think its and excellent idea though
